Podcasting + Religious Content = Godcasting?

by: Rev. Dan

PCLiberal sent me an interesting link to a Podcast Lawy and Policy Forum blog post called Get Right with Godcasting. There are assertions that Godcasting (doing a podcast on a “religious” topic) is podcasting’s first “killer app.” It’s an interesting thought, however I’ll point out that “dick and fart jokes” are probably podcasting’s true first “killer app.”

Are we godcasting instead of podcasting? I think we’re therapycasting. ;)

Also, Science@NASA, NASA’s new podcast, has a great explanation of what podcasting is/how it works.

Ryan and I are planning to go to the San Francisco Podcasting Meetup tomorrow, and are going to attempt to record the next episode of Outchurched there. The Meetup should be fun. If you’re even remotely interested, you should go. :)

We’re definitely not god-casting.

It is interesting to note, though, that religion has, in large part beat porn to podcasting, which is the opposite of the usual order (porn first, religion last).

Also, I highly reccomend the NASA podcast (even though it isn’t new :-) ).

Have you heard Lucinda Williams’ “Get Right With God” off her Essence album? You might like it!
