A Church that says “Let’s Talk About Sex.”

by: Rev. Dan

Granger Community Church is having a five-week series on sex-related topics, which seems fairly “progressive” on the surface. The fifth topic, “Porn: What’s the Big Deal?,” is to be presented by XXXChurch. A cursory glance at the xxxchurch site shows it for what it is… an anti-porn site (and the entire congregation said… “duh!”).

This is little more than classic religious bait-and-switch with the religious wrong mesage embedded in the sheep’s clothing of “relevance.” What it surely boils down to is: “hey, come listen to us tell you how you should manage your penis/vagina.”

No, I wouldn’t expect to ever attend a church service where they suggest that sexual relations should/could occur between anything/one other than a man and a woman in a relgiously-cast “marriage” framework, but the notion of them having a five-part series with cleverly double-spoken titles and semi-titilating marketing…. well, sorry, that’s just kinda fucked up.

If you’re not going to be able to make it out there to Indiana, they’re making the series available for purchase online. God obviously wants you to hear the series, unless you don’t have $25 for the full set, in which case God only wants you to hear the topic that interests you, provided you have the $5 for it.

Christians are seriously overfocused on other people’s genitals and how they’re used. It’s time for ‘em to pull the redwood forests out of their eyes and quit trying to lead the sighted.

So what you’re saying is that Christians spend too much time trying to see past their own “wood”.

hehehe…
