Pimp My Ride: Stupid Church People-Style

by: Rev. Dan

Stupid Church People produced an exciting video, giving the church van an overhaul… Pimp My Ride, Jesus-style.

I had several thoughts while watching this video:

  • “look at this dirty, white, 15-passenger van.” Racism?
  • Oooh, look at all that electrical tape!
  • That’s not actually Jesus… that’s (gasp) JOSH! - Matthew 24:5
  • Wow, I can’t believe all the swearing… (Warning: we’re reprinting the strong language verbatim… not for the Sensitive or the Christlike:)
"Jesus... and another church van? Gosh!
and… (after a nigh-unto-demonic demonstration of graphic physical violence):
"Instead of that crap, I’m going to put this 10,000 watt sound system.”
  • The land of race car ya-yas.
The land where you cant change lanes.
The land where large, fuzzy dice still hang proudly
    Like testicles from rear-view mirrors.
    (Cake)
  • Provocative, suggestive, inappropriate sexual imagery and suggestive belief in mysticism/the occult:
    • The underage teen washing the window with a squeegie.
    • With these babies you can have good luck all year ’round. (Indistinguishable “mating-call”-like noises).”
    • “… we got some fuzzy little dice. C’mon… feel ‘em. Yeah… c’mon girl.”

This video is documentation of a fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy… one given by Jesus himself, but not necessarily a fulfillment in the way that Stupid Church People had thought:

Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.

At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—if that were possible. So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

    Mark 13:6,21-23

Josh cannot deceive us, for we here at Outchurched have been given the Spiritual Gift of Discernment. We know that this is not a true miracle of Christ… the “pimping” of the church van… that was performed by Josh and some talented kids. It’s amazing that video four minutes and seventeen seconds in length which was made in a mere few hours could undermine thousands of years of church history. Awesome job guys!

We here at Outchurched think that Steve and Josh should be appointed as Permanent Youth Ministers, not because they’d necessarily be good Youth Ministers (they’d probably rock the block), but rather because they’re both Permanent Youth.
