Season’s Greetings
by: Rev. DanMerry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours from Outchurched!
Thank you so much, Outchurched friends, for your input, comments, and encouragement over the past year. I’m hopeful that in the coming year that we’ll be able to take this blog in a new direction (though you should have no fear… the snark and disdain for stupidity will remain!) and provide a forum for folks who have left the church, or who are considering leaving, to share their stories. Our dream for the site is for it to ultimately be a resource for all of us to laugh at our own stupidity (and the stupidity of others) and hopefully to provide at least some insight, help, or encouragement to either get people back in the fold or out. I think we’re all sick of lukewarmness, and perhaps we should resolve to make the coming year a time to shit or get off the pot; to make a decision to move towards something positive and move forward. I wish I were capable of being less ambiguous and could offer specific ideas/actions, but these are specifics we have to work out for ourselves. (Besides, you’re absolutely fucked if you follow me as some sort of “spiritual leader.”) :)
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
This past year has been a rough one… here’s to faith in the hope that the new year will be much better than the last. Let’s put the rubber to the road and make it so.
We’ll see ya in a few weeks. :)
Merry Christmas to you too Reverend! :-)
Have a good one, Rev. Dan! hugs
Can I get an amen for the right Reverend Dan?
