Fear the Banana and Our Evolution-Destroying Board Game

by: Rev. Dan

I think Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron are 2006’s funniest “couple” (of heterosexual partners in evangelism) and should be given an award for the profound value they bring to Christian Entertainment Evangelism.

Earlier this year they presented us with The Atheist’s Nightmare which has kept a good many of us apostates up at night, frightened to death of Bananas in Pajamas, and now they present us with the Ultimate Darwinian Smackdown: the Intelligent Design vs. Evolution Board Game:

Christian Bored Game

The game covers the three “e’s”:

Evangelistic, educational, entertaining.

At last, a board game that reveals the insanity of perhaps the greatest hoax of our times — the unscientific “theory of evolution.”

“Intelligent Design vs Evolution” is unique in that the playing pieces are small rubber brains and each team plays for “brain” cards. Each player uses his or her brains to get more brains, and the team with the most brains wins. It has been designed to make people think . . . and that’s exactly what it does.

Wow, that’s freakin’ awesome… I can play for rubber brains, because God knows that I don’t need real brains. We all know that the only creatures that need real brains are zombies and that zombies are thoroughly Satanic.

The game apparently also features graphic illustrations which completely demolish any sort of argument that one species could evolve from another. Consider the evidence:

Bull + Frog = Bullfrog

That’s amazing! That one illustration just shows how remarkably stupid Evil-lution is! How could anyone ever have believed in such nonsense! We all know that if a bull and a frog mate then we should get bullfrogs! Kirk and Ray have photographic evidence! Wow! Take THAT Richard Dawkins!

Their lovely site The Way of the Master (and it is quite a bit nicer than the default Kubrick template we heathens have used here at Outchurched for the past ~ 2 years) is a treasure trove of amazing and inspiring entertainment.

Of particular note is an awesome “solar flare” effect when one mouses over the header which highlights the text “photos by cj-studio.com.” Wow. Now I know who to contact for the OC redesign! And if they redo the site, then obviously God must bless it and approve of the content!

Confronted with such astoundingly unbiased and straightforward Truth, I can’t help but be swayed to rejoin church and recommit my life to the God of the Bible, Creator of Logic and Reason (and the absolute lack of a need for Godly human beings to use either).

While the Way of the Master site has solved almost all of my life’s problems in three minutes, one major problem remains: Where should I send my tithes, and should I make my check out to Kirk Cameron, Ray Comfort, or Way of the Master?

Lest ye thinketh that the body of Christ doth be the only grouping so entertainmently-engaged, checketh out Austin Atheist’s blog entry which hath graven images of several other lovely religious games.

(Quite unlike most Outchurched posts these days, this wasn’t first spotted on J-Walk, which is one of the best blogs in Rev. Dan’s RSS aggregator.)

Quite-jumpin’ commentary (with a few comments which literally made me laugh out loud) can be found on PZ Myers’ Pharyngula blog.

“Bypassing the intellect?” … hmmm.

I also like the stat - 294,000 decisions for Christ and yet only 14,000 could be found “in fellowship” leaving 280,000 “backsliders.” I guess we know where that leaves you and me Dan.

0.0476% are still “in fellowship…” wow. I wonder what the statistics are for Billy Graham crusades and Benny Hinn concerts.

All they want to do is eat your brains. That’s not so unreasonable, is it?

And thanks for the link love! My appreciation has now been noted in an update to that post. Now excuse me while I add you to my blogroll.
