Bill Maher Named “#1 Bigot” By Actual Bigot

by: Rev. Dan

The Catholic League (of Extraordinary Assholes)’s President and upstanding Pillar of the Fringe Community, Bill Donohue, has declared that Bill Maher is America’s #1 Bigot:

On his Friday night HBO program, “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Maher was joined in a discussion about UFO’s with some of the panelists. Here is what Maher had to say:

“But I think it is much more likely that there could be space ships from outer space, than what a lot of things people believe. People still believe, you know, excuse me I know I may inject religion into every show but UFO’s are a lot more likely than a space god flew down bodily and you know who was the Son of God and you know had sex with a Palestinian woman, and um…”

“There is no bigger bigot in America today than Bill Maher. His serial insults are tolerated on HBO and on late-night television shows because the producers are not outraged by what he says. How else can we explain his ability to offend with impunity?”

Donohue, as always, is missing the point. Maher “offends with impunity” by telling the truth. It only really offends very small, petty people who are always offended by anything that doesn’t fit in their small little view of the world. When a jackass like Bill Donohue gives you a title like this, it’s reason to celebrate because it means you’re standing up and telling the truth instead of fellating the Christianist majority. Were I Bill Maher I’d get a t-shirt that says “America’s #1 Bigot” and I’d wear it proudly.

I think it’d be awesome if Bill Maher and Kathy Griffin got together to do a “Salute to the Catholic League (of Extraordinarily Petty Idiots)” show.

All joking aside, I really appreciate Bill Donohue’s transparency. He’s quite obviously a dumb little jackass who represents a larger jackass segment of the population, and regularly does the world a service by consistently demonstrating what kneejerk reactionaries Christianists are. Who, aside from those having profound and untreated mental disorders, would ever want to be a douche like Bill Donohue or be involved in the “Christianity” he represents?
